Today we adopted our escargots. If you were absent, you need to see Mme for your escargot, preferable after class or during a quiet time.

In cahier, write:

elle aime (she loves)
il deteste (he hates) = il n'aime pas
elle deteste (she hates) = elle n'aime pas
il a peur de (he is afraid of)
elle a peur de (she is afraid of)

Today we learned adjectives, how to describe people, and took the Oath of the Escargot.
1) For vocabulary, see handout
2) In cahier, create two columns, masculin and feminine, and write out the first page of the vocab words as appropriate for each column.

1) learned words for colors . Copies these into your notes section:

2) Vocab assignment: make a Bonjour comic. In four slides, create a dialogue between two characters using at least 5, but I challenge you to use 10, words from your list. --Due Thursday.

Today we learned how to talk about time, and worked on our vocabulary assignment. We also worked on the name poems.

Assignment: Create a vocabulary list, writing words in French and in English, on a piece of paper or on flashcards. The vocabulary list is posted on the handouts page on the class website, or on page 15 in the textbook.

Today we learned to:
1) say different variations of how you are doing (ca va)
2) how to organize your cahier (notebook)--see handout

4) l'alphabet francais
5) started name poems

le 6 septembre

Today is the first day of class. We learned how to great someone, say your name, and ask someone else's name. We learned some French names. You need to pick out a boy's name and a girl's name for your escargot (see french.about.com and search on names for some ideas).
