We watched clips and practiced chapter 10 vocabulary.
Then, we talked about reflexive verbs (verbes reflechis en francais).

se laver to wash oneself
reflexive pronouns: me, te, se, nous, vous, se
Je me lave (I wash myself)
Tu te laves (you wash yourself)
Il se lave (he washes himself)
Nous nous lavons (we wash ourselves)
Vous vous lavez (you wash yourself)
Ils se lavent (they wash themselves)

s'appeler (literally, to call oneself, we use this to say what one's name is)
Je m'appelle
Tu t'appelles
Il s'appelle
Nous nous appelons
Vous vous appelez
Ils s'appellent

There are lots of reflexive verbs. Here are a few more:
se lever (to get up); se brosser (to brush oneself); se brosser les cheveux (to brush hair); se brosser les dents (to brush teeth); se maquiller (to put on makeup); s'habiller (to dress oneself); se raser (to shave oneself); se coucher (to go to bed, or to put oneself to bed); se doucher (to shower); se depecher (to hurry); s'amuser (to have fun, to amuse oneself); se peigner (to comb oneself); se reveiller (to wake up, wake oneself up)

Assignment due Monday:
Write out your day (ma journee) and your schedule (mon horaire) using 10 reflexive verbs. Tell the time (a quelle heure) and illustrate each action.

Example:
A 5 h, je me reveille.
A 5h15, je me leve.
A 5h30, je me douche.

We talked about the different of saying you like something and wanting something in French.
When you like something in a general sense, you use le/la
J'aime le fromage.
J'aime la glace.

When you want something, you say you want some of it and use the partitive, or "de" form:
Je veux du fromage.
Je veux de la glace.

In class we created a pizza and then worked on the following assignments:

Study guide:

The final for French 1 will be comprehensive—meaning everything we have covered since the first day of school. It will be multiple choice.
You will need to know…

· How to make adjectives agree (masculine, feminine, plural)
